The Meller Merceux Art Gallery
The Meller Merceux Gallery was set up by Aidan Meller. Being in the Art Industry for the past 12 years both as a dealer and teacher, he could see the scope for making Art a part of a lifestyle approach. Meller is a collectable artist in his own right, but it was going to Art Auctions at Sotheby’s and Christies, enjoying the Art Biennales around the world as well as the usual annual art fairs such Frieze in London, that made him realise that Art could be a way of life. He says “Art just seeps into the veins. I wanted to combine the different facets in one place.”
It was when he came back from an exhibition in St Tropez that he decided to set up his vision for this approach. Selecting Art very carefully and talking with Art Agents and other Dealers, Meller opened his first Gallery in Witney just outside Oxford. “I want to share this way of seeing Art” he says, “It is an amazing industry and few people have the chance to be part of it.” Meller continues “Through the Meller Merceux Gallery, I want to give people opportunity to enjoy a diversity of work and touch the messages that are expressed through Art. It can be an emotive experience.”
The Gallery is open Monday to Saturday 10am – 5.30pm.
